The outrageously sublime fire breathing popsicle stick located at 132 Ludlow Street in the Lower East Village heralds in 5 years of neighborhood good times. Known throughout the city for its hi-fi rhythms and wild barmaids, Iggy?s is the Lower East Side?s casual and unspoken chip on the shoulder.
With 2-for-1 specials daily from 2 to 9pm (that?s a considerate amount of free booze to be gained), Iggy?s resonates as one of the more appealing bars in the area. Fire flickering lanterns light this Irish style pub. The front windows open to the passing street where strangers soon become friends.
Expect nothing less than local rock stars and rock-n-roll when you step inside. Throughout the week, d.j.?s spin an eclectic mix of rock, punk, country, and metal, but always count on the token jukebox. Every Tuesday night is Pirate Night - wear an eye patch or a peg leg and have a free Pabst Blue Ribbon. A nightly running special of Pabst Blue Ribbon and a shot of your choice for $5 is a steal. They say they have cheap booze and memorable times here, or is it forgotten?
Iggy?s is open daily from 2pm to 4am. For parties and information call 212.529.2731 or visit www.iggysnewyork.com. Ask for Monica, she?s a sweetheart.
