Latest NYCDOH Inspection Report

The owners are hot-rod-crazy Detroit natives, so Motor City's cavernous, two-car-garage-sized interior is appointed with tuck 'n' roll upholstered barstools, a car seat couch and hubcaps on the wall. If you're a GM partisan who's offended by the huge Ford Mustang mural, there are two exits right up front.

It?s Motor City Madness. The sign reads welcome to Detroit and the renaissance city founded in 1701. On the favored Lower East Side path of Ludlow Street, the Motor City Bar, at 127 Ludlow, stands tall for owners Francesca Romeo and Teresa?s rock star ball.

Something of a sleek doc Martin boot, the Motor City Bar remains a neighborhood vanguard for 10 years now. Nightly d.j.?s spinning the best in an eclectic mix of classic, indie, rock-a-billy, garage, goth, and new wave rock create one of the most individual and genuine scenes in all of Manhattan. The tremendous simplicity of New York City?s own Detroit themed Motor City Bar is one of the more attractive finds in the LES.

From 4pm to 4am nightly, locals and visitors alike ring the mellow bells of the Motor City Bar. Happy hour specials run daily from 4pm to 7pm, including 2-for-1 $3 to $5 beers and well drinks. Scotch drinkers will notice the better than decent price and selection of single malts.

The music, crowd, and service spark this tavern?s collection of greatest hits. If you?re at the bar ask for Francesca, Teresa, or Allegra. For entertainment schedule, directions and information, call 212.358.1595. Owner Francesca Romeo has been a bartender in the Village for 10 years prior to acquiring Motor City Bar.
