With a well-deserved reputation as the coziest pint-and-pool hang in town, this fifty-year-old LES institution has a lot of charm.
The front room still sports hunting trophies and drink prices from the bar's days as a "gentleman's social club." Old-guy drink specials (think whiskey and soda) are being offered all summer in honor of the club's fiftieth anniversary.
Meanwhile, the well-designed back room provides a great listening space for live entertainment 7 nights a week. Local and national acts perform bluegrass, blues, jazz, rock, and salsa, as well as burlesque and comedy. Check the monthly calendar online for an up-to-date schedule of performances.
The Parkside Lounge was recently voted by Time Out New York as one of the top ten "Dives with a Bonus." Happy Hour is 2-8 daily, except Sundays, when the bar hosts the All-Day Liquid Brunch happy hour.
