Sheldon Silver, Speaker of the New York State Assembly, represents the 64th Assembly District, which includes part of LoHo, Chinatown and downtown Manhattan
Silver was first elected to the NYS Assembly in 1976. He was elected interim Speaker in January 1994 and Speaker in February 1994.
Mr. Silver is the Chairperson, Committee on Rules.
